The HRC 626 Series Mechanical Lap Splice (commonly referred to as offset mechanical splices, side-by-side splices or tension-only splices), provides an effective alternative to tension lap splices. The HRC 626 couplers are designed to reliably transfer full rebar capacity between two A706/A615 Grade 60 reinforcing bars in tension-only applications with very short lap lengths when butt splicing is not required.
The HRC 626 Series Mechanical Lap Splice can be used for a wide range of applications, meets and/or exceeds ACI 318 Type 1 and Type 2 splice Code requirements in TENSION ONLY and is authorized as a Caltrans Service Splice.
